Dr. Wallace’s wife Ellen worked alongside Dr. Wallace in establishing the practice since its beginning. Although she is not seen behind the desk as frequently as she once was, she continues to oversee all office management. She is active in many volunteer projects in the community and loves being a mom to their 4 children.
Nichole joined our staff in 2001. She is a 1999 graduate of Northampton Community College Dental Hygienist Program. In 2002 Nichole and her husband Mike had their first child and since that time their family has continued to grow, making Nichole a full-time mom and our part-time hygienist. Nichole and Mike are the proud parents of two boys, and a daughter; Michael, Nicholas and Eliza. Nichole has also added a puppy named Luna to her busy household. Along with working every Monday and Thursday here at the office, Nichole creates and sells her own line of jewelry. Her designs are unique and beautiful.
In January of 2003, Gladys joined the practice bringing with her 18 years experience as an orthodontic assistant. In 2007 Gladys completed her training at Keystone Technical Institute in Harrisburg, PA and received her certification to practice as an EFDA, (expanded functions dental assistant). Gladys has been instrumental in helping Dr. Wallace expand his orthodontic services for our young and not-so–young patients alike. Not only is Gladys a talented dental assistant, she is an amazing crafter, cake designer, flower gardener and baker of the most delicious homemade cakes and cookies. She loves Phillies baseball, the great outdoors, traveling adventures with her sister Doris and having fun with her nieces and nephews.
In late 2004 Sarah Baskin joined our practice as a fill-in assistant after being a stay-at-home mom for 20 years. Having worked as a certified dental assistant for 5 years in the Washington, DC area before marrying, Sarah was ready to get back in the field. The fill-in position led to a permanent part-time position and she has been with the practice ever since. Sarah is active in her church and community, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, biking, and hooking rugs. She is the mother of three grown children Josh, Catherine, and Kelsey. Sarah is often referred to as “Bob the builder’s wife”, since Bob is well known as the Summerfield repairman. Sarah is now a grandmother of two energetic boys, William and Eli, and a third grandbaby will be joining her beautiful family soon!
Maureen joined the practice in 2006. She hails from Reading PA and is a graduate of Central Catholic High School and the Northampton Community College Dental Hygiene Program. She enjoys working with patients, especially those with periodontal disease, where she can combine optimal oral health care along with patient education. Maureen is active in the Berks County Dental Hygienist Association, and volunteers at the Children’s Clinic in Reading. Maureen attends many continuing education courses and is a member of the PA Academy of Dental Hygiene Studies. Maureen enjoys biking and hiking with her husband Mark and their two children Ryan and Danielle, and for relaxation she loves to read. Maureen and Mark are proud grandparents to their son Ryan and his wife Kim’s children, Marianna, Louisa and Calvin.
Tammy joined the front desk staff in 2007 after working 26 years in customer service for the airline industry. Tammy enjoys working in a smaller office environment, and likes working close to her home. She loves learning new things, and finds dentistry very interesting. When not at work, she enjoys traveling, bicycling, and spending free time with her son and husband. Tammy has a black belt in karate, and she enjoys taking karate classes with her son.
Melissa joined our practice in the summer of 2012 after graduating from Berks Technical Institute with an Associate's degree in dental assisting. Melissa then received her EFDA (expanded function dental assistant) certification in the fall of 2013. She loves learning about dentistry and enjoys being a member of our team of assistants. When she is out of the office, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and their two beautiful daughters, Adilynn and Charlotte. During the summer months, Melissa loves to travel with her family and spend time on the beach.
Kara is a graduate of Berks Technical Institute where she received an Associate's Degree in Dental Assisting. She joined our team in early 2014 and then became an EDFA (expanded function dental assistant) in the summer of 2015. Kara has enjoyed learning more about dentistry and honing her skills ever since. Kara and her husband Ben love spending time camping, traveling, and going to the beach during the summer months. They recently welcomed their little boy, Wyatt to their family in March. They also especially love spoiling their sweet little cockapoo, Leia!
Chrissy joined the practice in 2016. Having been a long-time patient, she feels right at home as part of out front office team. Chrissy enjoys using her background in Education and Banking in her new position and embraces the challenge of applying this background to the dental world. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and can often be seen walking, running, or spectating at her children's sporting events.
Violeta joined our team as a part-time hygienist in the fall of 2015. She graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College in 2015 with an Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene. She also received the "golden scaler" award and the "best dental clinician" award, which is no surprise as she is highly skilled and had over 13 years of experience as a dental assistant before becoming a hygienist! Outside of the office, Violeta is a caring wife and mother of three children, Breanna, Caleb and Zachary. Violeta and her family love music, traveling and tennis, and they enjoy attending the U.S. Open every year.
Roxana joined our team in early 2017 after graduating from Northampton Community College with an Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene in 2016. She feels right at home here as she is native to the Morgantown area, and now lives locally with her husband, Eric. Roxana is passionate about oral healthcare and loves to educate patients her patients about ways to optimize oral health. When she is not in the office, Roxana loves to hike, go camping, spend time with her friends and family and spoil her adorable pug, Sophie!
